(August 10, 2006. Oak View, California.) The Imaginal Institute announced today the formation of its new publishing company, Meandering Press.
Meandering Press is an independent press dedicated to the creative and sustainable production and retailing of print, electronic, and media works that celebrate and challenge the imagination.
Publisher Leigh Melander, Ph.D. states, “We are working to combine the very best in traditional publishing, with a reverence for beautiful books, with cutting edge technology in green and electronic printing.”
Like its parent company, The Imaginal Institute, Meandering Press seeks to bridge the gap between academic and popular thought about imagination, presenting materials that both challenge and entertain. The press will be publishing a combination of new and out-of-print works in both fiction and nonfiction, for both children and adults.
Initial releases, including The Pointless Revolution Handbook: Frivolity and the Serious Business of Subversive Creativity, and Dissed! The Real Deal on Writing Dissertations and Theses, from Actual Survivors, are scheduled for early 2008 release.
About The Imaginal Institute
The Imaginal Institute is a cross-disciplinary conduit for imagining: celebrating and supporting the leap between ideas and action through dialogue, lifelong learning, and creative expression. The Institute offers public events and conferences, online learning opportunities, consulting, and, with the advent of Meandering Press, publishing.
